Very caring and attentive staff. Unfortunately my mama broke her leg in Lyon so whilst she was in hospital we had to extend our stay. Helped with taxi arrangements for my Aunty and I to visit mama every day.
In terms of room, was a fantastic size with a great shower head.
Very spacious rooms with walk out balconies. The location was the best part as well. If you want to be at the center of Lyon, this hotel is a good place to be. The bathtubs were also of good size compared to others I have encountered. Very comfortable and convenient stay.
We enjoyed our room overlooking Jacobin square. It was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was nice although the breakfast room was a bit crowded. We did not have any service from housekeeping our entire visit. No clean towels, no replenishment of the coffee. They may have come in and smoothed the sheets one day but that was it. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
This was my third time staying at the Mercure Lyon Centre Beaux Arts, and I'm happy to continue staying here on future visits to Lyon. I changed the dates of my most recent trip because this hotel was fully booked one of the nights and I didn't want to stay anywhere else in Lyon. This is actually the hotel property that convinced me to switch from Marriott to Accor as my preferred hotel chain.
The location is superb. It's a 5 minute walk to Cordeliers transit station, it's minutes away from other transit connections, and within a 15-minutes walk there are hundreds of restaurants and bars, some museums, parks, the funicular, gyms, shops... everything. The location can't be better.
The rooms are in good condition and have been renovated, although you're staying in a very old building and the property manages that reality very well. Most of the property exists above the ground floor, but there's still a reception desk, miniature bar, and sitting area. There's no pool, gym, or spa, but in a city like Lyon you should be out enjoying the city anyway.
They offer a breakfast buffet as well as room service breakfast, but I've never participated... either I get in too late at night, or I'll walk to a nearby bakery to get breakfast.
And the service is excellent: they honor my requests from booking, and they're very helpful in giving advice about the local area. I arrived very early on this last visit (at noon) with almost no sleep, so I left my bags, went to lunch, and when I returned still early they had a room ready for me and already placed my bags in the room. I was asleep in my very comfortable bed by 2:30pm.
The Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre Beaux Arts exemplifies customer service and convenience.
A small boutique hotel in the old town and within 10-20 minutes walking distance to many attractions in the city. During check in, the front desk service is excellent and gave up room options to choose such as tub vs shower, room location, etc. The standard room size is good for a couple, not tiny. The room is nicely decorated and with good quality. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel but there are many pastry shops around the area that serve breakfast.
The location was so central and a lovely neighborhood an easy walk from everywhere. Characteristic building, nice & quiet room, good breakfast and has a great stay. The only thing I missed was washing machines in hotel as other laundry options were too far.
We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and had the most wonderful time. The room, although smaller, was great, the balcony (facing the street) and the view from it was beautiful, and a huge chunk of sights and restaurants were at walking …
We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning or November. The pre-arrival questionnaire was a really good idea, we were able to pre-book dinner at one of the restaurants we wanted to try, but had been unable to book ourselves. When we arrived …
